Michael Buerk started Summit Consulting Services in 2003, after 25 years in the electrical construction industry. Mike was the sole employee of Summit from 2003 until 2013, serving mainly the natural gas industry, and several industrial clients, with electrical consulting, project management, troubleshooting services.

In 2013, Mark Humbert joined Summit, bringing with him over 20 years in the automation/system integration field, greatly increasing the services offered; at that time, they incorporated Summit as an LLC. Bringing together Mike's and Mark's extensive, and varying backgrounds in the electrical industry, Summit’s business rapidly grew, requiring the purchase of their current office and shop located in downtown DuBois, PA, and hiring additional support personnel. In 2019, Summit became a UL 508A recognized industrial control panel shop, causing another growth spurt.

In the fall of 2020, Mike and Mark decided that the current name, Summit Consulting Services, no longer was a good representation of the services offered by Summit and decided on a change to their current name of Summit Electrical Solutions.

Summit Electrical Solutions continues to service to the natural gas industry, in addition they have branched out to provide services for municipal water/wastewater, industrial, and lumber clients throughout their service area.

As they continue to grow, Mike, Mark and all the Summit employees remained focused on core principle of being Committed to Providing a Better Way.
